10 minutes Chia Berry Jam (or sauce)

Cutting down on sugar is one of the best things you can do for your health. But how to make a delicious jam or sauce without the usual load of sugar? Chia is the answer! This recipe is simple and so yummy, just the way we like it. You can use any fruit you like, from frozen to some bits that need eating. Try different combinations of fruit, and different consistencies, by adding more or less chia seeds. The ratio of chia seeds to fruit in this recipe made a bit of a sloppy jam, perfect to load up our crepes. If you like it sweeter, add more sweetener of your choice

Ingredients

2 cups frozen berries

2 tbsp chia seeds

1 tbsp maple syrup, or any other natural sweetener you like

Method

Put the berries in a saucepan on very low heat. As they melt, you can mash them up a bit. When all is melted and just warm, stir through the chia seeds and your sweetener. Taste. Let it sit for a few minutes to set. Use straight away or keep in the fridge for about a week.
